controle de sistema - triptych

"Controle de sistema", in english "system control", is my art work for the Arte Cidade group exhibition, which will start next week at the SESC in Blumenau.

My first idea for this exhibition was the "system control" concept, which is the prototype of the triptych, which I will expose.
After the "system control" concept I had the idea with ThE mOnStEr PaLiMpSeSt, but it didn't work.
Because of this I wanted to refine the "system control" concept.

The triptych consists of three palimpsests in the size 40x50cm. The photos are flower pictures, which I made with my DIY-macro-lenses. Each picture is printed on four papers, which I merged together.
The entire triptych has got the size of approx. 40x190cm.

Here is the first version:

But I had some problems with the left picture. The print was a little bit nasty. Therefore I changed this picture and here is the second version:

Of course, the picture in the middle got a frame, too:

Here the work at the exhibition.

ThE mOnStEr PaLiMpSeSt!!!

ThE mOnStEr PaLiMpSeSt based on the "system control" concept, but goes much further.
The idea was to print one picture on a collage of many papers in the size 200x300cm, but this was too large, therefore the size shrinked to 100x150cm with 66 pieces of paper.
But the whole idea is too crazy, because in the theory it sounds good, but in practice it's hard to make.
I started to print the first ten parts of the collage, and of course I had fresh new ink cartridges, but the picture has got many green and red areas and because of this the color ink cartridge was soon empty for these two colors.
I'm very sad that I didn't get it, but I don't have the money to buy a dozen of fresh new color ink cartridges for one work.
I must put off this plan, but maybe one day I'll continue...

The Palimpsest-Error-Files! part2

Sometimes the photo and the paper or rather what is on the paper are a bad match.
Like the following palimpsests will show you:

"isso é tudo 1-5" with the pictures "naked street, but not a naked wall."

DIY: A Panoramic Camera - Part 8

Yes, after nearly one year I continue with the ICA Project.
But for the moment just with a tripod for the panoramic camera.

I found a heavy tripod for a dumpy level in my tool shed. I think it's for a dumpy level, which is broken, because the tripod for my current dumpy level is in the case with the dumpy level.
But okay, now it's the tripod for my panoramic ICA.

The construction of the head of the tripod is a little bit different to the photographic tripods. But it's easy to fix the camera with a normal screw at the tripod:

Of course, I built a L-bracket for vertical shots:

The tripod is really heavy:
